“Contradictory Empires”
Throughout the Nineteenth Century many dominant empires were controlling the continents under the umbrella of imperialism such as Great Britain, France, the Hispanic Monarchy, and Portugal. Therefore, democracy, liberalism, and industrialization were these movements and trends that had been displayed along with this period, “The Age of Imperialism”; so in my point view, these trends were intentionally contradicted in establishing an empire on what pretext they have- “ to industrialize and modernize the world ” . For instance, this democracy that appeared after the French Revolution, which was applied in the internal government of these empires only, without the colonized states that were supposed to be ‘modernized’ ideologically; because of revolutions massacres by General Neill at Allahabad, the force selling of the Egyptian Suez Canal to France and Britain.
